Summary
Shane Hollander grew up a Montreal Expos fan. He watched them every summer growing up; it was something his dad was passionate about. They moved away when he was 13, because hockey had gotten too serious for him to think about baseball or anything outside it.
If you ask him about baseball, he responds like a good Canadian and says he roots for the Toronto Blue Jays, and he loves the team.
But there's still a part of him that misses the Expos, that watches the Nationals play once in a while. Aware that this would've been his team, his beloved Expos, if Montreal hadn't abandoned them.

Summary
Ilya knew that he had just been conjuring up worries due to his own insecurities, and knew better than to take those out on Shane. At least he should.
Then why had he not been able to get over it? Whenever he spent time with Shane everything was as beautiful and loving as it had been. He felt calm, collected, like it had just been one big misunderstanding. But then, the second he left, those suspicions crept back in.
Shane tries to surprise Ilya. It goes terribly wrong. (Until it doesn't.)

Something flickers across Rozanov’s face. His jaw twitches. “Yes, I know about Lily.” He raises his eyebrows.
Hayden feels like a complete asshole, all of a sudden. There’s just been too much going on to even think about Shane’s mystery girlfriend. “Shit, I should probably, like, call her, or something? I don’t know this girl at all, but Shane’s been obsessed with her for years. If she was watching the game, she would have seen him get hurt.”
“You don’t need to call her,” Rozanov says, and when Hayden glances at him, he still looks fucking miserable but now he’s rolling his eyes, a much more familiar expression of disdain on his face. “She’s sitting right here.”
