"And now what ? Are you going to let me leave ?” Vergil asked, his tone icy.
“What? You can’t leave !” Dante exclaimed in shock.
“I can and I will. So? What are you going to do? Take my choice away again ? Then what ? Hold me prisoner in that shop of yours ? Should I call you “Master”, like Mundus ? Will you chain me to another wall, so that I can’t run away as well? ” Vergil scoffed, poison dripping from his words.
“You know what? Yeah, maybe I will. At least I’ll be sure that you won’t be going on another rampage.” Dante openly mocked him. “ You got any other kid to mangle?”
“Then let’s settle this once and for all.” The blue twin hissed.
“Fine. One last duel, but I have a condition.” Dante smirked. “If you win, I won’t interfere with your life ever again. Whatever you do, you’ll have my blessing.”
“And if I lose ?” The blue twin asked, his razor sharp focus on Dante.
“I’ll take the Yamato and you’ll become my slave. I’ll be free to do whatever I wish to you, and you won’t ever be free again.” The hunter hoped that the fear of captivity would be enough to snap him out of his rage.
“Fine.” Vergil whispered and Dante felt his blood turn cold. Shit.

Summary
A sharp taste, dripping with the essence of magic, suddenly blossomed in Vergil's space.
Quicker than one could blink, the pen was switched out for the Yamato, Vergil changing his position to that of a crouched ready stance in one fluid motion. His sharp gaze was immediately drawn to the demonic presence he could feel, spotting the form of a person not too far from him. They were crouched as well.
Two pairs of eyes of the same shade of blue met in the dim darkness. Recognition flared to life in both of them.
“It’s you…”

Summary

It would be so much easier to parse through if he just grew up normal like any other kid... but alas, even a devil has his demons.
They have to act quickly, however, because this silent enemy has proven itself not only quick but ruthless. With this killer's sick fascination in child's blood, the unorthodox family of hybrids has to move fast before he begins to target someone a little closer to home.

Now, on the newspaper's front page is an article that states that Kyrie has been arrested and that Nero has been killed during the police raid. A raid ... that hasn't happened yet.
The gunsmith tries to get everyone into the van and leave, but the police forces arrive and she can only escape with the kids...

Nero was just a kid. Brash, cocky, rough around the edges—but still a kid. Still sixteen, with too much weight on his too-small shoulders and eyes that had seen too much already. He had that same hollow look Dante once carried after Eva died. That wide-eyed stillness that said, I’m alone, and I don’t know how not to be.
It wasn’t just Vergil’s eyes that haunted him when he looked at Nero. It was himself.
