    You pause when he does. He’s been gone almost three days. You’re certain the face he’s greeting you with doesn’t make sense, not unless you’d-

    “Bad dog,” he snaps, his voice as thunderous as it ever gets.

    He sees it out of the corner of his eye as he passes it. An innocuous but pleasing brown colour.

    He stops. Retraces his steps, parks himself in front of the display window.
    There are others, right beside it – but those don’t have the same captivating presentation, and he pays them no mind. Tilts his head slightly as he regards it – him.

    The brown fabric fur looks plush – sleek, and likely soft, but not silky. The tiniest bit of grit to it, he’s sure. Big black eyes and charming triangle nose crested atop the only lighter patch of fabric on him – as if to indicate in large letters where to place a kiss.
