"I have—" Chigiri starts, but then cuts himself off. "...I have other priorities that a political marriage would interrupt. That's all."
To Barou's credit, when he's calmed down, he's a lot more intellectual than he seems. Somehow, he reads between Chigiri's lines accurately and guesses, "You have your eyes set on somebody else. Someone you cannot have, I presume."
Chigiri grits his teeth, but doesn’t reply.
When dragged into an arranged marriage against their wills, Barou and Chigiri agree that they will not let this go through. After all, Chigiri has been in love with Kunigami, his childhood best friend and loyal knight, for years. It’s not like he and Barou are going to magically fall in love.
