Nick had his say, but there's a lot he doesn't know about Jay. A lot he might have been told but isn't willing to put on paper—or worse, things Jay couldn't bear to tell Nick.
This story will go a chapter per year, covering his time with Dan, his time between Dan and the war, his time with Daisy—and just why she's so impossibly important to him—his years rising up with Wolfshiem, and that one final year before he dies. "My, you have been busy," Scott said, and Legundo did not look at Scott's eyes— shut them in fact, when Scott grabbed his chin and forced his face forward. He could smell that cold breath now, like a funeral parlor, and pulled away with a grimace, hand moving to his belt—
Scott snatched that up as well, and with a twist and a surge of inhuman strength, pressed Legundo flat to the table. His breath left him in a rush, and Scott laughed.
Scott was shorter than Legundo, and much lighter as well. The only thing keeping him planted on the ground was his own body weight, and Legundo had the advantage of leverage.
He still had a hand free. Legundo grabbed on to the collar of Scott's elegant coat, and put a knee into the vampire's stomach. He had the satisfaction of seeing surprise in Scott's eyes— before he was handily thrown clean off of Legundo, and over the far side of the table.
He would not get the element of surprise again.
(Or; Legundo gets bit by EVERY Vampire at some point or another, for varying reasons.)

They care about her, in their weird and twisted ways.

Pyro had spent his entire life never being good enough.
His parents had cut him out of their will and left him to fend for himself because he wasn’t sufficiently accomplished. Even without another heir to replace him, they’d decided he wasn’t worth the time or effort. No professor had ever taken notice of him either. He was a mediocre student. Not so incompetent to be remarkable, nor so brilliant to earn himself their admiration.
And now, he was a creature of the night, and he couldn’t even excel at that. He didn’t doubt that his Sire would soon grow frustrated with him and leave him for the villagers to tear apart. It was an inevitability, especially after he’d failed to control himself with Shelby. And yet, there was still hope in his cold, unbeating heart. Maybe if he just tried a bit harder, he could earn his Sire’s forgiveness.

The Codfather’s loose shirt is gone now, and while Scott certainly hadn’t expected that level of muscle definition, that isn’t what he’s focused on. Jimmy’s torso is littered with scars. They’re all over, some large and others tiny, some an aged white and others a shiny red. He gapes at them, confused—what had happened? Is the sea really that dangerous? He knows Jimmy’s clumsy, does it justify this?
“What happened to you?” he blurts out, and Jimmy turns to him, face a picture of confusion, before his eyes follow Scott’s gaze. Comprehension dawns and his face closes off.
“You know how it is,” he says coolly, and Scott is pretty sure he does not, in fact, know how it is.

Just the smallest flicker of eyesight showed the Mezalean King looking at them with the most confused face they had ever seen.

When an uncorrupted Xornoth woke up on the Mezalean shore line, they expected to get arrested or killed on sight. What they did not expect was for King Joel to drag them into the Matral Palace for in-law bonding.
They also didn't expect for Scott to be corrupted by Exor. And they also didn't expect themself to still be incoherent around Joey.
