Summary
Before Alphas and Omegas, there were Hybrids.
Records describe them as a mutation that went extinct centuries ago, but ancient legends tell a different story: beings capable of altering their nature at will. They could become Alpha or Omega, changing their pheromones, their reproductive organs, and even their instincts. They were the ultimate predators.
Over time, evolution split them into two races: Alphas and Omegas. The Hybrids vanished... or so humanity believed.
In the present day, the police force is divided into two specialized squads. Omegas investigate cases of abuse, trafficking, and violence; Alphas track, capture, and neutralize high-risk threats.
Niall leads the Omega squad. He is intelligent, manipulative, and an expert at weaponizing his apparent vulnerability. Ruben heads the Alpha squad: a relentless tracker who is territorial and feared even among his own kind.
They were once partners.
It ended badly.
Now, an impossible killer has resurfaced. He leaves no trace, changes his scent, and defies all biological logic.

Summary
After the hospital, the things seem to go back to normal: Niall gets better and Ruben has his back in all troubles. Niall gets desperate to fix himself to “normal”. Ruben gets obsessive to understand the man he thought he knew. Both feel the weird space between them and can do nothing about it. Both are consumed in their hate for each other. Both slowly and eventually get to confront something more than hate that there is.
