The lollipop in his mouth thrashes when he moves his tongue, going from poking into his cheek to sitting properly on his tongue to poking his other cheek, over and over again. It's strawberry flavor but it might as well have been mint or coke or lemon or watermelon or cherry, because it would have still tasted like a mix of metol, sodium hydroxide, and sodium sulfate.

Summary
Jason knows that he messed up his Torah reading at his bar mitzvah. He twists this mistake around in his head until he's convinced that Whizzer is dead because he messed up and that God hates him. He doesn't want anyone to know that he messed up, since he's sure that if they find out they'll all hate him too.
