Summary
Following the 'baptism by fire' shift—as the interns had dubbed it—Frank went home, more than ashamed of the way he'd lashed out at Robby in the ambulance bay. He hadn't spoken to anyone before leaving, somehow managing to avoid Mel's keen eye, knowing that she wanted to catch him up on what he'd missed after Robby's banishment earlier in the shift. He'd grabbed the rest of his stuff from his locker and fled, but only upon arriving home did the gravity of the situation really sink in for him.
A direct sequel to Don't turn around, exploring Frank's attempts at rehabilitation, the breakdown of his marriage, and the unhealthy reliance he has on his bosses approval. Robby cannot help but indulge him, desperate for the connection despite the guilt it causes him. Things must get worse before they can get better, but neither of them have hit rock bottom... yet.

Summary
The hammer just proved what Bucky learned back when they were kids: give Steve power, and he’ll use it to kneel in the dirt right beside you. The serum hadn’t changed that, the shield hadn’t changed that and the heavens wouldn’t either.
The hammer had just made it official and irrefutable for the rest of the world.
Okay, so now there was no way he was not not going to do this.
If Steve knew about this, he would definitely tease him mercilessly. Even though a faint blush would creep across his cheeks, he wouldn’t be able to resist the opportunity to poke harmless fun at Bucky, wouldn’t let him just have this. He’d say something stupid like “You said you wouldn’t cave, Sarge” or “You waited three weeks, and now you’re getting all hot and bothered just because I’m, what, a decent human being?" but Bucky was much too focused on the fact that no mere human being would be able to wield Mjölnir, much too busy ravishing in the fact that someone who was deemed worthy by the heavens was his and his only.

“Yeah, big building with the A on it,” Bucky says, and can’t help a big stupid grin. Steve stares at him, looking a little dazed, and after their whole conversation it’s only now that Bucky’s brain catches up and realises Steve finds him quite attractive. So. Win for Bucky.
“Let me get your number,” Steve says finally, after they’ve stared stupidly at each other for about three hours, taking out his phone.
So they exchange numbers, and then Steve says he should go, and Bucky agrees, and they kind of stare at each other for a bit more, then Steve actually does go, but not before taking Bucky’s hand and squeezing it warmly in a way that makes Bucky want to shiver all over. Then Steve is gone, and Bucky is standing alone in the alley, grinning to himself.
Right up until the moment he remembers that Steve thinks Bucky is an escort he’s just hired.

Eddie Munson marches on stage that night, glammed up and dizzy, and squawks. Right at the audience! Gone is the suave, confident frontman who wears his body like he designed it, who winks at interviewers who poke and prod at the queer subtext in his lyricism. In his stead is an extremely (unwillingly) drunk man, who cannot for the life of him remember how to be a rockstar.
It was a disaster, to say the least.
But it was also really, really funny.

Steve knows how to charm alphas. Knows how to bend his neck submissively, how to bat his lashes, smile coyly and lean into their space, bite his lips all flustered, and fake a chirp. It’s easy to twist and bend himself into whatever kind of degrading fantasy they want to have of him. It’s easy because it’s not real. It’s an act, a persona, any alpha’s wet dream, it’s not him. Whoever that might be.
It’s comfortable slipping into that skin, knowing it’s keeping himself safe, protecting him like armor, not letting anyone get close, not letting anyone touch. Steve doesn’t like the person he becomes all that much, but he has to hide the softer parts, the ones that make him vulnerable. Often enough he ends up forgetting not just his name, but also who he is underneath all the gold-clad limbs.
Someone awkward and a bit of a dork it turns out. The kind of person who says stupid shit like I carried a watermelon.

Every one of Prince Steve’s previous private guards would only stay for a few weeks, a month at most, two if Steve's father had luck on his side. Despite how well the prince got along with his new guard, he still couldn’t shake away that fear, that “what if?”. This guard could up and leave like all of the others, leaving Steve as alone as any time before. He hoped, for once, that wouldn’t be the case. He asked about it indirectly. He started playing it off like a joke, asking Eddie when he was going to leave as he was starting to become ‘overdue’ and all previous guards would’ve left by now. Eddie didn’t laugh. He smiled and gave the prince a soft look before stating,
“I won’t leave unless you tell me to."

Steve is the prince of Hawkins Kingdom, and his new guard, Eddie, has caught his interest.
