Summary
He spent his whole life trying to prove to him that he was worthy enough, that he was a decent warrior but his father never believed in him, it was never enough, he kept pushing him to be better—believing his limit could be stretched to be even stronger.
He was tired, mentally exhausted of giving it his all for what he now feels was useless. All he ever wanted was to be noticed by his father. He wanted him to notice and appreciate his accomplishments and achievements.
Was a simple "I'm proud of you" really too hard?
Or
Neteyam cracks under all the pressure. Ao'nung finds him at his lowest and attempts to comfort him.

Summary

A week in the sky and a month in the forest is too much time together, but forced into the same journey, they begin to learn that dislike and desire can feel dangerously similar.

"A permanent one," Neteyam rushed to clarify, batting his lashes in hopes of persuading his friend, who had sported a hesitant look the moment the omatikayan clarified.
The metkayina pursed his lips thoughtfully, seeming to be mulling it over before he shook his head from side to side. "'Teyam, I don't think that's a very good-"
"Please?" Neteyam interjected, looking meaningfully into Aonung's eyes while the metkayina's decision clearly wavered.
By the power of Neteyam's persuasive skills and his looks, he managed to convince Aonung to agree.
