Just because Linden was allowed to stay at home as some sort of ‘invalid’ didn’t mean the tesserae wasn’t something he participated in. Scaramouche laid draped over what seemed to be a bloodied operation table. His face was turned to the side, his striking purple eyes meeting Columbina’s with no enthusiasm.
Blood was everywhere, smeared across the white surface of the table his arms were thrown over. He was on his stomach, but unmoving. Columbina greatly suspected that he wasn’t able to move at all.
Columbina stumbles in on an injured Scaramouche, and against better judgement, tries to help him.
