    Leo is about 70% sure Casey was raised by his future-self, and Casey saw the guy as his dad in some way. Still sees him, his current self, as a father figure.

    Surprisingly, Leo is fine with this.

    Or,

    Casey misses his dads but is too scared to get close to the younger versions of them— well, one of them at least. Plus, they’re not even together in this timeline! So it would be weird to call them both dad… It’s probably for best to keep his distance.

    Leo is going to change that.

    Leo has daddy issues. They’ve been a pretty blatant part of his whole thing since he was a kid. This is something he’s come to accept about himself.

    He doesn’t realize the extent of these ‘issues’ until he walks in on Donnie reprimanding Shelldon. The softshell was standing tall, firmly scolding the bot for something or another. His shoulders were back, and though he wasn’t outright yelling he had his arms crossed and his jaw clenched and-

    And- look. There should have been nothing sexy about Donnie being so…authoritative.

    Leo and Donnie have been married for years, a relationship once built on warmth, partnership, and shared dreams. But as time passes, Donnie becomes consumed by work and projects, slowly drifting away from the man waiting at home. Dates get postponed, conversations grow shorter, touches become rare. Leo keeps telling himself to be patient—Donnie is stressed, it’s temporary, it will get better.

    Until it doesn’t.

    Lonely in a marriage that no longer feels like love, Leo reaches his breaking point. Hurt and exhausted from begging to be seen, he begins to wonder if the only way to save himself is to leave… even if it means leaving the person he still loves. Faced with the possibility of losing his husband for good, Donnie is forced to confront the consequences of his neglect and decide whether he’s willing to fight for the marriage he’s taken for granted.
