It’s infuriating.
There are several reasons this particular chatter is absolutely maddening. Firstly, it’s untrue. Penelope did not become beautiful overnight. Penelope changed her hair and changed her dress overnight, but she has always been beautiful, a simple fact. Grass is green and it is always rainy in England and Penelope Featherington is beautiful.

Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Buffy finally has a minute to breathe. She’s back in Cleveland, taking college classes during the day, taking turns guarding the Hellmouth at night, and even mentoring a new Slayer on the side. And then there’s the matter of Faith, who she just can’t seem to stop thinking about.

After the fall of Sunnydale the gang regroups at a motel on the outskirts of a small California town. With nothing but a Rest Stop down the road and the quiet stillness of the desert Buffy is unable to ignore the persistent anxiety and PTSD she is experiencing even as she tries desperately to keep it from everyone around her in order to lead them all to a new life. She turns to Faith who is the only person she feels she doesn't owe anything to and the only person who might understand.
Will these two get pulled back into their defensiveness and weird mixed signals? Or will they be able to work through all of their past trauma and somehow find their way back to being the Chosen Two?
