Summary
The light comes back into Kabu slowly, first coursing down the cables to his back, then setting the oxyone aglow. It bubbles as it drips out into empty pathways, into his waiting system, bringing the life back home. Minato feels the buzz all the way up his arm when the small static field leaps into being, and as Kabu’s internal motors all kick on one by one, that anxious silence drains away.
Kabu’s screen flickers. Minato feels paralyzed, locked into place by the circuit between them. Blazingly white, then dark static blue, then teal. The lines of his face come back online, and Kabu opens his eyes.

Summary
Gavin loosens his grip on Nines' hair, moves to stroke the rough hairs at the base of his neck—Nines barely shivers from the touch. He's so utterly silent during this; it annoys Gavin to no end. It isn't until Gavin slides his fingers against his neck that Nines suddenly flinches, tenses against his lips, lets out the tiniest noise.

Robin probably cries in front of Steve. Nancy can't really picture Robin in tears, but if she and Steve are so close then she must be hiding some vulnerability, something soft and fragile that Nancy just can't see. Steve loves her, understands her more than he ever did Nancy.
Something is different, and she ignores the taunts of Nancy Dre-ew that rise unbidden from the back of her mind as she once again grips the steering wheel like it's personally offended her, driving a little too fast for Hawkins roads at night and ignoring the rumble of the car in favor of focusing on the facts in front of her.

On the way back, Robin sat scrunched up in a ball with her feet on the car seat, drinking the last few sips of her shake and bobbing her head to the music coming out of Steve’s radio. “Do you think that old lady thought we were dating?” she asked suddenly, “She was looking at us, like, oh to be young and in love. ” She swooned, placing both hands on her heart.
“Probably,” Steve said, tapping his thumb on the steering wheel, “Who doesn’t?”
Max snorted, both in amusement and surprise. “People think that?”
