    Kelvin shifted his weight from foot to foot.

    “It's 'glued at the hip,' Judy. And Keefe is my closest companion, so he gets to dine with us. But ours is a platonic relationship, not a romantic one.”

    He didn’t allow himself to wince at how rehearsed that sounded. As if he practised it over and over in front of a mirror. Because he didn’t.
