“I feel— I— I feel...” Yoongi stuttered, frowning at himself as his mouth continued to refuse to cooperate with him. His whole body was starting to feel heavy and he couldn’t even lift his leg up when he tried. “Too— too much... alc’hol.”
His boyfriend grinned, pressing another kiss to Yoongi’s slack lips. “Oh no, my sweet kitten,” he cooed. “That’s just the drugs taking effect.”
Yoongi inwardly blanched. Drugs? Surely, his boyfriend had to be joking, but Yoongi didn’t find it funny in the slightest. He really didn’t feel right and he just wanted to lie down and sleep it off but he didn’t know how to tell Jin any of that.
“ ‘yung,” he garbled out, trying and failing to get his limbs to cooperate enough to fight his way out of his blanket prison once again.
“I know, kitten,” Jin cooed. “I want to get you home too.”

Jeongguk watches him, eyes fond. He lets out a small, amused huff. “You’re like a little hamster.”
Jimin stills.
Jeongguk doesn’t notice at first, focused on his blade. But when he finally glances up, Jimin is staring at him, hands protectively cradling his belly. His lips are parted slightly, brows drawn together like he’s trying to make sense of something.
Then—his eyes well up.
Jeongguk freezes, the sharpening stone slipping from his fingers. “Wait, what— ”
“You think I look like a hamster?” Jimin’s voice wobbles, and Jeongguk’s chest tightens.
“What? No, baby, I just meant—”
“Because I’m round?” Jimin’s bottom lip trembles. “Because my cheeks look puffy? Because I keep collecting things—?” His breath hitches, and Jeongguk nearly flinches when Jimin’s scent shifts, distressed.
“No, no, no ,” Jeongguk immediately rises to his feet, crossing the short distance between them. His hands land firm on Jimin’s waist. “Baby, I swear, I didn’t mean it like that—”
Jimin blinks up at him, tears slipping down his cheeks. “Then why would you say it?!”

Jimin gets in front of his friend, creating a barrier between the newcomers and Taehyung, "Get away!" He screams, voice shrill and panicked, "Leave!"
They step forward, and Jimin can smell at least one human, "We won't hurt you, please let u-"
"One more step, and- and I'll fucking kill you!" Jimin holds up the glass from before, clutching it with his two violently shaking hands.
Only one steps forward this time. A man, by the sound of it, "Please, we're not gonna-"
Jimin shrieks as the man gets closer, "Get away! GET AWAY! GET AWAY!" He feels like a wild animal. Fear turns him feral as he struggles to breathe, to think, to move.

Taehyung and Jimin escape a puppy mill and are found by a group of strangers who come to their aid. They are faced with the choice to trust these men or possibly get captured again by a hybrid lab or a shelter, both of which aren't much better options than the hell that they have just left. If they stay, how will they integrate into this new life? A life of safety, of family.
