Summary
🜊 ── 🝦 ── 🜊
A massive silhouette shadows the doorframe to the kitchen. Sanji’s eyes water as the scent of loam and mire join the introduction of a man at the entrance.
Bronze, scarred skin. Cropped green hair. A piercing, singular eye.
It’s the same man that Sanji had seen before, previously lain lifeless in the manor basement.
“What the hell?” Sanji whispers.
The man’s steps are hefty and loud, as if the lift of his knee is cut at the height of his step. He makes his way into the kitchen and Sanji retreats to the wall behind himself.
The green-haired brute slowly plods his way around the island and towards the kitchenette. His presence draws with it the acrid scent of alchemical ozone. And when he steps up closer, his silver iris pins Sanji with its focus.🜊 ── 🝦 ── 🜊

Summary
“Nightmare?”
“What is this, twenty fucking questions?”
“Don’t be a dick.” Zoro’s tone isn’t unkind, but Sanji feels reprimanded anyways. He is being a bit of a dick.
He taps the ash from his cigarette into the sea. “Sorry.”
His eyes flit down to Zoro’s hands. The swordsman is still holding his lighter, large thumb absently running over the grooves on the sparkwheel. He turns it around in his fingers, and Sanji feels cold.
Or: A guide on how to lean on another. Told in vignettes.

Summary
"Kind of a long way to come just for blue flowers," Zoro said at last. "They super rare or something?"
Sanji, hands full of blooms, straightened up.
"I guess they're rare, I mean, maybe. We don't have any in our garden and… well, they're my mom's favorite kind." He took a breath, thinking of raised voices, the sound of shattering glass. He blinked. "I guess I just wanted to bring her something nice today."
Sanji was just a kid when he met Zoro– the day he found both a refuge from his father's household and an unexpected friend. Then Zoro left, and that was it. Sanji had to survive alone because, even in his wildest dreams, he never would have expected Zoro to show up again, especially not like this; but now Zoro has, and the way Sanji's learned to live is about to change.
Or: Sanji's used to trading one prison for another, but he didn't expect to find hope in any of them.

Bookmarker's Notes
"And what if the future is you?" he whispered, heat pricking the corners of his eyes, and Zoro looked up quickly. "What if it's just anything where you're there?"
