“You got a job, then. Who in their right mind would hire you?” There was no humour in Wilbur’s words as he forced them out.
The few seconds before he reached to grip the card stretched endlessly, the brief moment of contact as his fingers brushed against the man’s palm in the process sending unease through him.
“I’m trying Wilbur, I really am.”

Summary
The weight against his sides felt calmingly familiar, the guarantee of at least a few days meals, maybe more if he paced himself, all wrapped up in the frayed fabric of his pockets. Sure, had he brought his bag he could grab more, stocked up for weeks to come (no shelters or bargaining needed), but the risk of the added weight during his entrance had been far greater of a risk than he was willing to accept.
He’d gotten what he came for, and done so wholly unnoticed by the residents of the property, all that was left now was to –
“Who the fuck are you?”
OR, Wilbur breaks into a house to swipe a few of the essentials in a desperate moment. The teenager living there is strangely compliant with such an activity.

Summary
Wilbur was late.
It wasn’t so much that he was late- he was a teenager, after all, and Phil was very well-informed on teenagers supposed never ending wants to stay out late and act stupid with their mates. Wilbur was 16, a mature 16 to his credit, but 16, nonetheless. Phil wanted little more than he wanted his brothers to get the teenage life that people well into middle age raved about for being the ‘best time of their lives,’ he wanted them to experience every stupidly rebellious trope and character-building moment and coming of age step.But there was a fine line between youthfully rushing home moments after curfew, and recklessly flaunting the rules.
//Or, Phil is SBI's older brother who after years of fighting for custody is now months away from being his brother's legal guardian. Wilbur is going through just enough teen angst that he seems to be messing up Phil's shot at custody on purpose.

Summary

Summary
Wilbur's life was plagued with horns of a different kind.
Everyone knew of the Gentry, the Fair Folk, the Good Neighbors (though in Wilbur's private and unspoken opinion they really weren't good neighbors at all). They knew to avoid still water and mushroom rings and to ignore any singing coming from the forest. Years ago perhaps it had been assumed to be just rumor, and old wives' tale to keep children from running into the woods and getting themselves hurt without telling their elders where they were going.
Around fourteen years ago, that all changed for their village.

Yes. Wilbur had to bite his tongue to keep the answer from spilling out of his mouth, because yes he wanted more. Of course he wanted more. He wanted to be more than the bastard prince. He wanted to be more than a mistake his mother made before she married Tommy’s father.
But that wasn’t the role he had been cast for in his life.
“It doesn’t matter,” Wilbur said instead. “When Tommy turns eighteen he’ll be crowned King, and I will be his advisor. He’ll be a good king, I’ll make sure of it.”
or, as the bastard prince of the planet of Eldingvegr, Wilbur has always known he was never meant for greatness. That was his younger brother's destiny. Wilbur's job was simply to try and make sure Tommy could fulfill that destiny.
That becomes decidedly more difficult when the brothers are betrayed, and are forced to flee their home planet. With the Essempi Empire being one of the largest imperial powers in the universe, the only place that can offer them refuge from Emperor Dream is Zephys IV—capital planet of the Antarctic Empire, ruled by the ruthless Emperor Philza.

Sometimes, it's a bit hard to tell if things are real or not.basically, wilbur is not okay after limbo, phil comforts him. this is his first day being alive again.
