    the hat rule (noun)
    /ðə hæt ro͞ol/

A cowboy tradition in which placing one’s hat on another person’s head is a public claim of romantic and/or sexual intent.

    Summary

He works, and he thinks about Viktor telling him he could fuck a pillow. He takes the tram home, and he thinks about Viktor telling him he could fuck a pillow. He gets off the tram three stops early because he's hard and hopes he can sweat it out by walking the rest of the way, and he thinks about Viktor telling him he could fuck a pillow.

So, really, it's not that surprising that he tries it.

Jayce has a habit to help him relax—if "habit" is the right word for fucking his pillow while imagining his lab partner talking to him like a dog. Viktor—suddenly—doesn't have an apartment.

Jayce, unfortunately, also has a crush.

    Summary

When Viktor blinks himself awake one morning with a distinct sense of wrongness he attributes it first to the immediate awareness that he is in Jayce's bedroom. In Jayce's bed. He knows exactly the contents of his desk and how the paintings are hung on his walls. And he knows for certain the rich scent of Jayce filling his lungs.

It takes him an additional minute after waking to realise where the sense of wrongness actually comes from.

When he stumbles to the mirror, it feels like he might be looking through it. Into the living room. Into some other part of the apartment. Because his mind simply cannot process what he's seeing otherwise.

The face staring back at him isn't his own. It's Jayce's.
