Still warm from running the bath, Ashur’s nimble fingers work to peel off what remains of Tarquin’s archive uniform and discards the wadded fabric into a crate of firewood. Though most of it is intact, there are no pieces to be salvaged. Tomorrow it will all be burnt to cinders. Lorelei was right to leave clean clothes for him at the safehouse rather than deliver them with the elixirs; they would have been wastefully destroyed, too saturated in fear and disgust to wear again.
