Summary
“Is it weird that I’ve always wanted someone to kiss me like that?” Eddie says, mouth completely skipping that whole ask-brain-for-permission-first thing.
“No weirder than me always wanting to kiss someone like that,” Buck replies.
Every bit of oxygen is sucked out of the room. The movie is still playing, but Eddie can’t hear it over the ringing in his ears. His eyes snap to Buck, who is rhythmically puffing his cheeks out and picking at the label on his bottle of soda.
Five time Buck and Eddie kiss platonically, and one time they don't.

Summary
He knew what it meant, even if he didn’t want to admit it. Anna was slipping. Again. And Ellie was bearing the brunt of it.
Joel watched her go, his chest tight. As she rounded the corner, he made a silent promise to himself: if Anna didn’t pull it together soon, he’d step in. Scared or not. Because Ellie deserved better, and Joel couldn’t keep pretending he didn’t care.
OR: Modern setting, abusive Anna, eight-year-old Ellie, and neighbor Joel, who will do anything for Ellie. Even if he doesn't want to admit it.

Summary
“I lied,” Buck blurts out, sheepishly. “You seemed so relaxed while you were sleeping, and with the extra shift you covered yesterday… I just wanted you to rest.”
“You lied about what?” he asks, even though he has a pretty good guess.
“About the time,” Buck confesses, then adds, smiling at him, bashful, “I also turned off your alarm.”
(Or, five times Eddie feels something as Buck takes care of him, plus one time he realizes what it means, and kisses Buck about it.)

Summary
What’s more pathetic than being in love with your best friend and co-parenting his kid with him then co-parenting your own kid with him in return?
And what’s more pathetic than that then moving in together platonically so that the kids can have a better routine?
And more pathetic than that is sharing a bed so that the two kids can have a room each?!
And more more more more pathetic… how about adding a third child into the mix?
***
AKA - Buck and Eddie are still hopelessly in love with each other but too scared to make a move even after moving in and raising two kids together. So Destiny herself has had enough and made a plan to get these idiots together by magicking them a baby girl in the Safe Haven Baby Box.

Summary
Buck reaches up to remove the hat Eddie put on him before, but Eddie’s hand shoots up with inhuman speed, wrapping around his wrist to stop him.
“Nu-uh,” he says, lowering Buck’s arm. “The hat stays on.”
Buck chuckles, a little breathless.
“Damn, Eddie, do you have a cowboy kink I didn’t know about?”
In response, Eddie only huffs, rolling his eyes with a playful smile tugging at his lips as he slides his hands down Buck’s chest to his stomach, the touch so light it tickles. And then Eddie’s hands go lower, lean fingers grabbing at his belt.
Or, the mechanical bull isn’t the only thing getting ridden in Nashville.
