For the first time this evening, Halsin falters, hand stuttering to a still against the page. He blinks a few times at the notebook before his eyes lift, shifting between the lovers.
Red eyes drift to meet the druids, gaze heavy and meaningful. Something Halsin very much picks up on based on the twitch Zyn sees in his jaw. Nostrils flaring slightly as he inhales.
“Would you like to see?” Astarion offers sensuously.

Summary
Sanguinius stood up from the floor, beating his wings to shake off any dust before grabbing Konrad’s stasis pod and inputing the code to awaken him. The slow, deliberate whirring of the stasis pod annoyed Sanguinius and did little to steady his nerves as with each passing second, dozens of possible futures occurred in his head.
The death of Azkaellon at Konrad’s hands. The triumph of Mankind as Konrad dealt the killing blow to Horus aboard the Vengeful Spirit. The grim darkness of Konrad’s massacres across the galaxy. Those were but a few of the near uncountable possibilities that ran through Sanguinius’ mind. Just as he was about to enter another dream, a hand yanked him-literally and figuratively-from his trance-like state.

We are exhausted. We are injured. We are grieving our sons lost, the relationships we thought we had with our brothers turned traitor, and the galaxy that we no longer have. But we are primarchs, and we need to be a symbol for our sons, and the common people. We do not have the same avenues available to use for stress relief. We cannot show weakness.
“Practical: Macraggian baths are legendary, and do much to ease the body and the spirit. You can be vulnerable around me, Sanguinius. You don’t have to be perfect. I know how to perform Macraggian hospitality. You can get some much-needed relaxation.”

Breathing in, Cid purses his lips and releases a stream of white smoke, watching it blend and disappear into the morning fog. A shadow falls over him.
“You fell asleep,” Clive says. He stands over Cid, crossing his arms over his chest disapprovingly.
“Not the worst way to wake up,” Cid retorts, still half-asleep as he glares up into Clive’s eyes.
Clive’s face twitches into something that isn’t exactly a smile, but is a softer frown than usual.
Another small victory.
A series of moments between Clive and Cid as the two travel together and grow closer, all while Cid's plan and the mothercrystals loom in the background. Strangers to friends/allies to lovers. Slow-burn romance.
