Green holds his head down, but keeps looking up at them. He's listening, okay? He's doing it right!! He'll listen to everything they say!
They turn their head to actually face him, and that alone makes his hands twitch. Acknowledgement meant they were paying attention, not just leaving him there for nothing. His previous doubts are immediately quelled.
This is a game, these are the rules, and that's how they play it. His goal is the same then. Be good at it. Impress them.

Cake is pretty much a coward, all you have to say is something like "im so sorry clock, me and the losers did a horrible thing and i can understand if you dont ever want to forgive us, but please know i want our old relationship back and i'll do anything to get you back" but noooo the guy just stops the words from coming out.
