Before she can second guess herself any further, Corrin closes the distance. Their mouths meet in a tender yet hesitant touch, a soft brush of lips that is over almost as quickly as it began. Corrin is the first to pull away as fear suddenly builds within her belly. There is a moment of silence that follows afterward where neither of them dare speak.
"My lady, I..." Corrin began, the words faltering on her tongue. Her eyes nervously dart back and forth between Laenah's, trying to gauge her reaction. "It is my duty to serve and protect you. I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have done that, it was foolish and—"
This time, it is Laenah who hushes Corrin's anxious ramblings. She reaches up to cup the knight's face between her palms before surging forward, clashing their mouths together again for a proper kiss. It is more desperate, almost needy, this time. Laenah whimpers against Corrin's mouth as she pulls her closer, not wanting any distance between them.
