“So… you’ll show me around the bar too? We’ll be colleagues?”
Will remains suspended for a heartbeat, his eyes wide with a fleeting, stunned clarity. Then, a sheepish, airy laugh breaks through his surprise.
“Oh! No, Mike. I’m not behind the bar.”
A subtle tilt of his head draws Mike’s eye toward the stage. Will catches his bottom lip between his teeth, a nervous habit that betrays the sudden spike in the room’s electricity.
“I’m a dancer here.”

“‘Girlfriend’?” Mike repeats.
Will glances away and then looks back again. “Um, I think she means me, Mike.”
“Oh.” Mike stares into his gorgeous, eyeliner-smudged eyes. “Okay.”
“Sorry, I know that’s kind of weird, she shouldn’t—”
“No! It’s okay. Really, it is.” Mike sees his own reflection in Will's glossy lips. “You can be my girlfriend, Will.”
or, Will wants to be treated like a girl sometimes. Mike's happy to make that happen.

It’s 8.56am, which means Will’s alarm will go off in 4 minutes. He’ll wake up, then text Mike to let him know his pre-heat has started, and Mike will let him know he’s on his way.
