Summary
When Kaveh discovers that Alhaitham has been reading a book about human sexuality and kinks, he generously offers to assist Alhaitham with some sexual exploration. It’s a risky proposal, and one that could end very badly—thanks to their falling-out years ago, the two of them have trust issues galore.
But it turns out that Kaveh and Alhaitham are surprisingly good at trust and communication when it comes to sex…which raises some questions about the nature of their relationship, and where exactly this whole experiment is leading them.
“Look,” Kaveh says, “if you’re going to approach sexual pleasure like an experiment, most potential partners won’t take too kindly to the idea of you having sex with them for science. Therefore, to spare all the poor people you’d inevitably insult in your quest for data, I am willing to be that person.”
“How charitable of you,” Alhaitham says.
“And I assume that you’re somewhat comfortable with the idea of having sex with me,” Kaveh adds, “or else you wouldn’t have been so willing to have my fingers in your mouth just now.”

Slowly getting off his motorbike is Dick, who's moving lethargically, absolutely soaked, and who hasn't made a noise yet. Granted, the young man has only been in the cave for maybe a minute and probably doesn't know he has company, but even while alone he's not this quiet. Bruce, having the pleasure of knowing the boy most of his life, knows that even by himself Dick is almost always filling the silence somehow- humming, tapping on things. The silence surrounding Dick now is unnatural, like a vacuum completely encasing his son."

“You hate us for making you better,” Dick continues against his will. He doesn’t want to be saying this, but really, how dare Bruce be so surprised to hear it? He should understand better than any of them how defective his relationship skills are. He has no right to pretend it isn’t true now that they can all hear it aloud. “But you hate yourself more for making us worse, which is—it’s fucked up, but we’re all fucked up, and it’s—it’s only partially your fault. You secretly wish you’d never met any of us, and you’d be right about it because now we hate ourselves, too.”
How can Bruce have the audacity to look heartbroken when he already knew all of this? Why is he pretending? Why does he keep lying?
(Dick is dosed with truth serum, and the effects will take at least a day to wear off. During that time, Dick is forced to reveal and confront truths about himself that he never wanted to acknowledge. )

It would have been an easy kill, under better circumstances, except Talon didn’t know that his target somehow possessed combat skills that could rival even the oldest and most deadly Talons in the compound. Talon never stood a chance.

At least until we have the situation under control. Am I understood?”
Biting his tongue until he tastes blood, Dick nods.

However, the man's increasingly ridiculous explanations ending with "well, it's a Gotham thing" might... but, hey, at least Peter gets to use the same excuse now. If only Neal's excuses actually made sense— sure, Gothamites learn to fight young, but not long enough to take out a whole warehouse NEAL.

Peter’s voice cut through the haze like a stone through glass. “Neal.”
Dick barely heard it. His attention had drifted somewhere distant—echoes of a half-forgotten argument, a crash, a boy with too much anger in his shoulders and another one who tried to smother it with logic. The buzz of the drug hadn’t fully worn off, but the clarity was starting to creep in around the edges, sharp and unwelcome.
Then Peter said it again, sharper. “Neal.”
Dick blinked, startled back into the room.
“Dick,” he corrected automatically, tired and too slow to catch the words before they hit the air.
The silence that followed was immediate.
Peter’s eyebrows furrowed. El paused in the doorway holding a pitcher of water. Sara looked up from the couch, confused.
“…Excuse me?” Peter asked carefully.

It's the old wives' tale. Dick had heard it time and time again from Alfred but never really thought enough about it to investigate whether or not it held any truth. Of course, he had to think about this as he watched the sun rise before work. Eh, he had watched plenty of sunrises, what could go wrong after watching this one.
Without even realising it, in that moment, Dick had just jinxed himself. It was Sod's Law, after all.
