"Your Paladin won't be coming to save you," Dante says, lying through his teeth. It's perhaps the most obvious bluff he's ever made, and if the way Will's eyebrows shoot up is any indication, it shows.
Will's lip twitches, like he's fighting a laugh – or a scream. Dante prefers to think it's the latter. "Really? Did he tell you that?"
Or: Will gets held for ransom due to his suspected connection to Paladin. It doesn’t end so well for the kidnapper.

Mike can only shake his head. Tears slip down his cheeks as his lips wobble helplessly. “I’m not.”
Will watches him for a moment before speaking again.
“Talk to me.” His voice is still breathy and weak, the words almost getting lost between shallow breaths. “I love talking to you.”
Mike lets out a laugh through his tears. “I love talking to you too,” he says, wiping uselessly at his face. “I love talking to you more than anyone else.”

Summary
"Come again?" Hitoshi says after a beat of silence and Aizawa gives him a look that speaks of his disappointment, his worry, his tiredness.
He always was a master in wrapping it all up in one and hide his softer feelings with the annoyance, but Hitoshi has gotten good at reading his looks over the years.
"You're on mandatory leave," Aizawa sighs out and Hitoshi rolls his eyes because that sure as fuck is not the part he stumbled over.
"Not that, I know the fucking protocol. What was that about Bakugou?"
Because surely he must have heard that wrong. Because surely there is no way in hell that Bakugou lost his arm and needs looking after right now.

Summary
Hitoshi jerks awake, pain slamming into him so viciously that he almost loses consciousness again but he grits his teeth and pushes through.
It takes him a moment to remember what happened, why he's in so much pain but then the sinkhole and the falling building come back to him and lets out a measured groan.
He remembers his fall, remembers jerking one civilian out of the way of a falling rock and he remembers the ground rushing up to him, but Hitoshi can't quite remember making contact with it.
Might be for the best, really, if he's already in that much pain and it only gets worse when he tries to sit up.
There's something trapping his leg, something sending such a vicious pain up his body that it makes him sick to his stomach and Hitoshi takes several moments to just breathe through it, to sort his thoughts out.
