    Summary

Theirs was a match arranged since childhood - one that neither Royal had any say in. With the ink dry upon the official documents, only one obligation was left to cement the union.

But as they reluctantly readied to consummate their marriage, neither could explain the sudden changes in their bodies - heightened sense of smell, neck itching, and especially all the excessive fluid…..

They didn’t know why….but they were sure as hell about to find out.

    Summary

As she moved around toward Natasha’s cemetery marker in this particular small town, Ohio, she wondered (as she always did when she came here), if she walked around this particular suburbia long enough, would she find her old street?

Or did Natasha pick here because it was just like their memories enough to be sentimental without stirring up old ghosts.

But then, when she got close enough to Natasha’s cemetery marker, she realized that a ghost was already there.

    Summary

Rey turns around again, starting to descend the steps, leaving him alone in the temple. ‘You can’t be here. Go back to your sycophants.’

He stands up abruptly and she flinches, shying away. ‘Have we really regressed back to being enemies now? After all this time?’ He motions between them, to the ephemeral, unbreakable bond.

Rey faces him, her hazel eyes so full of sorrow; it pierces straight to the core of him, an arrow to the heart. ‘You made your choices. You chose the Dark, Ben. You chose to kill the rebels rather than help them. There’s nothing I can do to help you anymore. So yes, you’re my enemy. And you need to leave.’ She turns away again, starting down the flight of steps that lead away from the cliff. The water in the pool undulates as her footsteps peter out, and Kylo stares into the pool, at his reflection, the scarred, damaged face that doesn’t even come close to portraying the conflict within. The face of the First Order. He hates it more than he ever has.

    Summary

For better or for worse (usually worse), Steve Rogers has been the most famous guy in the room for a while. And though newsreels have given way to YouTube, people's reactions haven't changed much in seventy-some years. Steve's become an expert at keeping his head down and getting on with his life.

A head-on collision on a busy street sends books flying and sweeps Steve off his feet. The point of impact has a name: James. A charming mess of long hair, thick glasses, and a crooked, not-quite-smile. If he recognizes Steve, he chooses not to comment, placing him firmly in Steve's good graces.

As far as Steve can tell, they might be Bogie and Bacall all over again, save for the group of idiots with selfie sticks who surround them. But for once, the request isn't for Steve.

Which begs the question: if James is James, then who the hell is Bucky?

    Summary

I check the monitor again, just as Steve’s eyes slide open. He looks into the camera. He looks into me. And I— I don’t know how to do this part. I never planned for this. I never dared to wish it into life, because I knew it would only bring me pain. And I was done with longing for the dead people and the dead world behind me.

This is a different kind of pain from the one in my shoulder now, as the skin frays around the place where it meets metal. It’s a pain of my reality crashing into this, into Steve Rogers. Alive. Drifting back into my life as I begin to drift out of it.
