Liam feels his eyes flash gold at the condescension, digs his nails into the palms of his hands in an effort to stop them from lengthening into claws, hates himself for proving this asshole right.
“Sorry about him,” the other guy says. “He gets moody when he has to sleep in ‘subpar’ hotels.”

He cuts off, yelping, as Theo reaches forward and hauls him over the desk. He stares up at Theo, wide-eyed, as Theo twists his fingers just that much harder in his collar, and asks, sweet, “What beta?”
