Summary
Mike is waiting for Will in the basement, a look of suspicious, nervous excitement on his face. He cleared the table and laid out upon it are two card games.
"Now, I know you’ll resist," Mike blurts out, stepping toward him. "But I think this will be good. For both of us! For when we... you know,” Mike trails off, “When we get partners.”
Will scoffs, stepping closer to inspect the titles.
Spill or Sip and Truth, Dare, or Strip.
Or: Mike suggests a spicy card game to help Will loosen up before college. It works a little too well, and suddenly they’re gambling with unresolved feelings, and clothes, that were meant to stay in place.

Summary
Keith is a witch who owns a shop where he breaks curses on both magical items and people under spells. Love spells, family curses passed down generations, cursed heirlooms lurking the attic -- he can handle them all. But one day a boy named Lance walks into his shop, and his curse is darker and more difficult to break than anything Keith has ever seen before: the curse is draining his magic, and without his magic, Lance will die.

Summary
Fear clambers into his mouth and tastes bitter on his tongue. “Who are you?” It takes him a moment to register the sound of his own voice.
She stares at him. Blinks. “Lance, please, this isn’t time for one of your jokes--”
He furrows his eyebrows and struggles to sit up, to stop leaning into the cradle of her arms. “I’m not--I’m not...joking.”
*
After sacrificing himself to save Allura, Lance wakes up in a strange new world where the only thing he knows is a deep connection to a boy he doesn't remember.

Summary
He took a deep breath.
Mama’s flour covered hands. Veronica’s guitar recital. His family caked in sand and sea salt and affection.
Keith tilting his head toward the sun before practice started on the quiet pitch, a lazy smile decorating his face and managing to take the breath right out from from Lance’s chest when he walked out to survey the quidditch field on a bright fall morning.
“Expecto Patronum!”
A burst of bright red light shot out from the end of Lance’s wand, swirling around the tall boy before condensing into the corporeal semblance of a large, red lion. The beast walked back to where Lance stood, and he slowly turned, hesitantly meeting Keith’s wide eyed gaze.
“Surprise?” Lance said sheepishly, hoping that this was enough to get the message across (praying that it was enough).

Summary
He’s never been able to call the room on the castleship his. He’s always aware of how painfully temporary things are─his time with the Blade has only bolstered that, a needling reminder that Voltron can and will function without him. Yet, sitting on a bed that should be familiar, staring at the blank walls, he can’t help but feel unsettled by the fact that he does not feel comforted by a space he used to inhabit. It feels empty, forced, like a puzzle with the pieces pushed together the wrong way.
He’s entirely too conscious of the thought that maybe that’s what he’s doing─forcing himself into a puzzle he doesn’t fit. Forcing himself into the team.
