Kojiro straightened his uniform one last time. No matter how many times he did this, he still got a bit nervous. At least he’d learned not to show it, pulling back his shoulders and putting on a smile as he rang the doorbell.
The noise of the party on the other side quieted, chatter of “who could it be?” and “are we expecting anyone else?” audible as an obviously tipsy but otherwise unremarkable man opened the door.
It took the guy a second before his face lit up and he grinned lewdly. “Come on in, Chef,” he said, gesturing Kojiro inside. “Whoooo’s hungry!! Your honey ordered us a personal chef! Isn’t that sweet!”
Kojiro walked into the party to “You’re so lucky!” “No, we’re so lucky!” “Perfect timing, I’m starving!”
“Who’s hungry for some tube steak?” Kojiro asked, ripping off his tear-away apron to expose his very suggestive eggplant g-string. Shrieks and wolf-whistles filled the air as Kojiro started to move with the beat and get into the swing of things, looking around the room for the groom-to-be—
And found him, staring right back with golden eyes Kojiro had spent the last ten years trying to forget.
