Summary
Alphas are considered brutes that need to be tamed. They are separated from the real world, living in training centers until they learn how to be useful and chosen by a beta or omega.
Eighteen year old Shane recently lost both of his parents, leaving him without a pack. He is lost and hurting, and his health is declining rapidly from years of suppressants and losing his pack. “We could…be friends, maybe.” Shane’s voice was small, hesitant on almost every sound.
“Wha–” Ilya’s reply was less of a word and more of a stupid, confused noise like he’d been punched. A punch probably would’ve caught him less off guard than what Shane actually said.
“Y’know, text about the hockey gossip? You call, I answer? Friends.”
Something terrifyingly bright exploded into Ilya’s chest. Something dangerous, that felt like maybe it could keep him warm through the summer in Russia, through the chill that permeated his childhood home no matter how warm it was outside.
“And also we like to suck each other’s dicks,” he quipped, trying to deflect.

Summary
Following Vegas, Shane was desperate to prove he can move on. Instead he spirals into a summer-long "hoe phase." He chases older men, with blue eyes, and hints of Ilya's dominance.
Specifically, a Russian man from Ottawa with rough hands, a Puerto Rican yoga instructor who stretches him in ways he didn't know were possible, a married couple in New York who use him in ways both thrilling and hollow, a hockey captain who embodies "daddy" energy, and finally, an old friend who makes him realize something crucial: he's been running in the wrong direction.
By October, Shane understands what his type really is. He doesn't need Rose Landry or Tampa in this AU to figure it out either. His type comes in the form of one fuckboy in Boston wearing a #81 on his jersey. His type is Ilya fucking Rozanov.
OR: 5 times Shane adds to his body count and 1 time Ilya is heartbroken after hearing about said body count.
