Summary
Hundreds of years ago, vampires used to coexist peacefully with humans in Piltover. Now, they’re practically extinct, wiped out by the human race. Vi is a former writer, but she now lives completely off the grid on a family farm in Zaun. Caitlyn is a graduate student at Piltover University with dreams of becoming a pharmaceutical scientist. The two used to be roommates, more than friends but less than lovers, before they inexplicably had a falling out during their last year of undergrad. Summer is here, and Caitlyn begrudgingly agrees to help out at her ex-best friend’s farm after one year of no contact. Seven weeks will fly by, and then she’ll finally move to Ionia to live with her father. Caitlyn just needs to lay low until then and avoid interacting with Vi.
The only problem? Caitlyn is a vampire.
And Vi hates vampires.

Summary
The end of the war marks an age of healing and restoration for both Piltover and Zaun. Everybody seems to get the memo except for Caitlyn, the new Sheriff of Piltover. Some wounds are much too deep to heal. The loss of her eye, the trauma from her past, the overwhelming guilt— Caitlyn is slipping away, and Vi does everything in her power to keep her afloat. She can only pray that it's enough.

Caitlyn struggles to adapt to life after losing her eye, falling into a deep depression that consumes her mind with self-deprecating thoughts. She struggles physically and mentally, all while Vi tries her hardest to be a supportive girlfriend. Which is hard to do considering Caitlyn does everything in her power to push Vi away.

After punching Caitlyn for a stupid dare, Vi is left with the insurmountable task of redeeming herself. Despite the initial tension, the girls slowly gain each other's trust as time passes. The two grow closer, and Vi is exposed to the true life of Caitlyn Kiramman. As Vi uncovers Caitlyn's darkest secrets, she realizes that there is a broken girl underneath the facade of perfection.
