Summary
He’s captain of the Boston Raiders, and they had just won a close game against their infamous rival on home territory. He had gotten a hat trick, and a chance to take his team to the playoffs.
He should be happy. But all he wants to do is face off in the center of the painted blue rings, scratched with blade marks, and see familiar laces roll up to meet him in the middle. Maybe he’d close his eyes and smile—be selfish. Maybe he’d hold off on a mischievous chirp—for once. Maybe, just maybe, he’d let him win. Just to open his eyes and see the sun in a roofed arena.
He should be happy, but it’s been a week.
Or,
Instead of nine years, it takes seven.

"I can't." Sunghoon's tone is flat, miserable. "I tried, and I— everytime I close my eyes, you die."
