Rather than go on a rampage, a very frazzled Caine decides to try to just hash things out with the players. It goes about as well as anything Caine tries, and leads to a revelation about a certain jester no one was expecting... least of all Pomni. It turns out Caine's been working on intelligent NPCs a lot longer than anyone thought.

Summary
Pomni arrives at the blanket fort later than usual only to find Jax, scarred in colorful eyes staring right back at her. Over a year later, Jax has managed to undo her own abstraction and has to rejoin the circus only to find it almost entirely changed. She must complete her journey of self actualization and make amends with those she has wronged while the rest of the circus has to come to terms with her return.
Yet another Jax De-Abstraction fic. Fair warning, the narration solely refers to Jax as a woman using She/Her, but until she comes out to the others, they will continue to refer to her with He/Him in dialogue. Also I love Caine so don't be surprised if there's a lot of him.

This fic was fully outlined by my wife and I after we'd watched the Episode 9 trailer, and as it turned out, some parts we have planned out were really close to some of what actually ended up happening in the episode, which is why this technically spoilers, even though it wasn't meant to be, so we waited until the episode released to post this :)
We've since watched the actual episode itself and had a bit of a chuckle at the 'hey, that's what we did!' of it. We'll be sticking to what we outlined, so don't consider this to be following the canon of Episode 9.
