Eddie can’t remember the last time he went for a walk.
He’s sure it’s been years, probably since before he joined the army. It’s not the kind of thing he really has time for. Had time for. He’s got nothing but time now, he thinks bitterly.
It’s funny, right? His entire life, he’s been asking for just a little more time, and now he’s finally got it. He’s finally got it and he’s cracking apart at the seams.
Frank tells him it’s perfectly normal for all the things you’ve been running from to catch up with you when you finally take a second to breathe. Which is pretty fucking unfair, actually, because Eddie might have time for a breakdown, but he’s not sure there’s enough time in the world to put himself back together.
