Summary
Suguru Geto is experiencing a growing indifference that is slowly chipping away at him. The mantra of duty and purpose he recites to himself are futile; he resembles a man trying to remember the words to a prayer he no longer believes in. People surround him, most of all Satoru. Despite this, he still remains completely, utterly alone. Eventually, he descends into someone unrecognizable. Yet he remains unable to let go of his past.
Satoru Gojo scans every crowd he walks into, holds imaginary arguments with someone long gone, and cannot form a reasonable explanation as to why he hasn't moved on. Beneath his goofy personality lies someone who has replayed every memory looking for the moment he missed, who understands in retrospect exactly what the signs meant and cannot forgive himself for how easily he looked past them.
