Summary
You are a human in a world run by monsters. They don’t bother hiding most of their monstrous traits, but they do adhere to a strict roster of theatrical and performance roles. They’re given names at birth, but choose their role as they mature. Anything from Noh and Kabuki from the east, to Commedia dell’arte, there are roles to be filled. This includes mystical roles such as the major arcana and playing cards. All monsters cover their faces as a show of propriety and respect for the old ways, but they also keep humans as pets and food livestock. There are many ferals still, hidden in back alleys and forests or disguised as monsters. Fresh, feral blood is a delicacy. At least monsters have found a way to synthesize human flesh to ensure their diet is sustainable should humans become a threatened species (which has happened in the past), but many still indulge in the hunt.
Unfortunately, even while disguised as a monster yourself, you have attracted the attention of a hunter. Fortunately, or unfortunately, he wishes to devour you in a completely different way.

Managing your monster boyfriends is a full-time job unto itself. Winter comes, and one brumates. Spring comes, and the other goes into a rut. You're just trying to study for entry exams so you can pursue an education, but Pierrot and Harlequin would keep you occupied all day if they could. Summary
You weren't a technician, you weren't a security guard, you weren't a daycare assistant. You're just an employee. Staff. The ‘jack-of-all-trades’ employee with mediocre at best skills and specialty in none, tasked with doing miscellaneous jobs that robots couldn't do and human staff couldn't care to. The job is unpredictable, but it pays good and it's relatively easy.
Except for the part where all the animatronics are more sentient than you thought, and you're roped into a mystery surrounding the Daycare Attendants, who are bit too curious about you for your liking.

“H-Harlequin.” Your voice comes out hoarse, ragged. Harlequin drags his forked tongue along your throat and hums appreciatively at the jumping of your pulse, only for your grip on his curls to tighten as you repeat, urgently, “Harlequin.”
Lips twisting as he’s pulled from the pleasurable haze of blood and wet, parted flesh, Harlequin follows your line of sight to the opening of the tent and frowns as he spots the tall, silver-haired figure lurking there. It seems you’ve gained an audience.

Your day off started normally. You slept late, you got Doordash, and you haven’t done much aside from watch trash TV and enjoy yourself. You planned to even visit the circus later!
You had absolutely no reason to assume your plans would be interrupted! Not even by the notoriously bizarre circus and its members!
So when Jester brings a heat-addled Pierrot to your apartment, asking you to take care of him for the week, needless to say a wrench is thrown in your plans. But you accept, because you stupidly agreed to whatever assignment Jester would give you before even hearing what the task was.
