Summary
Domina didn’t think of herself as a timid person. She was a trained fighter against rogue independents, had lived through historical parts of the Rebellion, and she’d nearly been killed more times than she could count.
Still, fighting and having a crush were two very different things.
Domina watched Chronica across the way, trying to keep her eyes above the neckline and failing. Domina blamed it on the way the fleet’s uniform hugged her curves, made her chest pronounced, and complimented her shiny blonde hair so well. Not that Chronica’s face wasn’t just as beautiful, captivating. She had those wet lips that Domina wished she could—

Out of the corner of his eyes, Nai spotted a large black shape through the window. He whipped his head up, staring straight ahead at the apple tree. Something was standing there underneath it.
As if sensing Nai’s stare, it slowly turned its head towards Nai’s direction. Its wings unfurled from its face, revealing the visage of a being that looked a little bit too familiar.
