Summary
Armand and Daniel's relationship continues into the 1980s in San Francisco. They are lovers after Daniel marries Alice and after he becomes a father. When Alice is out of town, Armand stays over to help Daniel with Kate and baby Lenora. They have moments of domestic bliss, but Daniel is desperately addicted to Armand's blood.
Decades later in Dubai, Daniel finds something unsettlingly familiar and alluring about Rashid.
“You’re the orange crayon.” Kate dumps out a box containing crayons, colored pencils, and fruit scented erasers onto the table. She pulls out a child’s size chair at her play table and looks at Armand with expectant eyes.
“You have to sit down.”
“Do I?” Armand stares down at the precocious seven year old. Kate nods.Armand looks at Kate’s innocent expression. She looks so much like Daniel in her face and mannerisms. And the same adorable head of curls.

Summary
Daniel meets with his maker Armand, whom he still has a tumultuous relationship with after Armand bestowed the dark gift to him. Marius slips into Daniel's mind and antagonizes him with memories about how he met Arun/Amadeo all those centuries ago. Daniel and Armand are trying to rebuild their relationship while Marius returns to take on the roll of antagonist.
Armand’s face shifts when he realizes the extent of what Marius has shared with Daniel. How many detailed, vulnerable moments Marius revealed. The choice for Armand to share them on his own terms gone and taken from him. -

Summary
Daniel remembers his romantic past with Armand when he is turned into a vampire. Armand might be a monster, but to Daniel there is no difference between monster and angel. Not when it comes to Armand.
Daniel gasps as he inhales air perfumed by moss and lush, wet earth. A sweet scent, rich and intoxicating, deep and sweet like honey, washes over him. A tapestry of camellias and roses surrounds them, and the Angel plucks a velvety white rose from a bush. He pricks his finger on one of its thorns and blood trickles down his arm. He touches the wound to Daniel’s lips and the taste of it is sweet and holy, it is familiar. Daniel suckles and laps at it until the Angel pulls away. The blood soaks into his tongue as the Angel dispenses a torrent of memories, words, images, all in rapid succession. Each memory restored is a stumbling block, an emotional landmine that robs Daniel of breath.

Rey is a type of fae known as Niima. For centuries the Niima were considered beautiful, powerful, and fast. Jealousy is an ugly thing. Now, all Niima have their wings clipped at birth, making it impossible for them to fly. They are forced into servitude, equally desired and looked down upon by the upper class.
Kylo is a powerful fae and is instantly intrigued by Rey.

Summary
Post Dubai, Armand waits in the park for his fledgling Daniel to meet with him. Marius shows up and antagonizes Armand. Then Daniel arrives.
Marius squeezes his jaw tighter, his fingers gently spreading Armand’s lips apart to reveal elongating fangs.
Marius has a way of tearing him apart in places he didn’t know were still capable of being broken. Armand shrinks in on himself and wraps his arms around his body.
