“Drop it,” he says, at last setting her down upon the tiled floor. The room is warm and humid, the air somehow thick with the scent of clean water. “The clothes. All of it.”
She blinks twice at him. The steam in the room has already begun to curl the fine hairs around her temples, and her cheeks flush pink from the heat— amongst other obvious things. “You’re serious.”
“You smell like shinigami.” He crosses his arms, planting himself between her and the door. “You smell like their meeting halls and their polite little handshakes and their captains’ spiritual pressure. I’m not touching you again until it’s gone.”

Number 12 — 'i missed you' kiss:
Nelliel takes a step toward him. “You look like you haven’t slept.”
“I slept fine.”
“You’re a terrible liar.”
“And you reek of shinigami.”
The words come out before he can stop them, harsh and sharp, edged with an accusation he hadn’t meant to make. Nelliel blinks twice. The smile on her face fades slightly, replaced by something more guarded.
“I’ve been living among them for three weeks,” she says, her tone carefully neutral. “It would be stranger if I didn’t.”

Summary
Grimmjow and Nelliel grew up attending the same events, enduring the same etiquette lessons, suffering through the same endless expectations, and for as long as anyone can remember, they’d fought like soaking wet cats thrown into a burlap sack together.
Absolutely everyone else sees it; the tension, the fixation, the way neither one of them can leave the other alone for more than twenty minutes at any given event. In fact, it seems that everyone sees it except for the two of them— or perhaps they simply refuse to acknowledge it.
Tonight, as per usual, is no exception.
