Yuan, however, approaching interactions with people as if they were monster taming, perceives him as a beaten, wet, sad cat (a bit saber-toothed and venomous, but...) and treats him like a wounded animal, completely unaware that he's encountering the future main villain.

Shen Yuan gets stuck in a box the entire time Binghe is in the Abyss, then immediately gives away that he knows too much when they finally meet. The relationship that develops is, of course, obsessive on both ends.
