They name each other's truths. Shane names one now, back to Ilya and face under the water. "I love you." The thing Ilya cannot look at head on takes shape immediately, a flood of nebulous concepts solidifying. Shane's face, Shane's hands, Shane's laugh, Shane's voice. On the rink, off the rink, playing with and against each other, falling into bed. Things that are Shane without being him, physically. Sunlight through Ilya's cracked curtain. Ilya's toothbrush on the left side of the sink.
