Luke looks down at his half-eaten ravioli—Aemond’s ravioli, really—and says, “If both parents legitimize, then it won’t be an issue.”
Aemond feels a deep desire to put his head in his hands. He does—one hand, half-covering the only eye Luke left to him. With the other he pinches the bridge of his nose. “And who, pray tell, would father this child for you?”

Aemond would gladly set little Luke Strong aflame to keep himself warm, would happily stand upon his smoldering bones as he made oaths to another. His cloak did not belong on those unworthy shoulders. His oaths were meaningless ashes in his mouth, bitter as poison.
