Xingqiu isn't too sure how things got to this point.
He's a smart boy, who excels in his studies, makes well thought out plans and negotiates effortlessly. So why, in the name of all Seven, whenever the topic is his feelings on romance, did he lose all composure?
Xingqiu blames a certain exorcist for it, as he feels the weight of his lies worsening the more he tries to convince his parents they’re dating. Why? Because apparently it's his ticket out of an arranged marriage.
And Xingqiu does not want to marry anyone that wasn't Chongyun.
Hopefully his friend will play along just long enough to get those ideas out of his parents' minds...
But what if it ends up changing their relationship permanently along the way?Or “the frustrating ordeal of watching two fools pine after each other in mutual, oblivious love”.

Xingqiu loves thursdays the best because he gets to see Chongyun come in and work right across from his desk, on the other side of the library floor. He dreams of the day his pining will stop being a secret and his wishes will come true. It looks like a long shot, a scream into the void. Until one day, it doesn't look as far and unattainable as it did.

Chongyun is a photography major working toward his final portfolio. Xingqiu is a fashion student trying to establish a brand of his own. The only real problem is neither have a model for their projects. It seems like an easy fix: Chongyun will model in the end of semester fashion show and in return Xingqiu will pose for a series of photography portraits.

Summary

After catching a glimpse of his little brother's list of courting methods for Chongyun, the first young master of the Feiyun Commerce Guild decides that his expertise is necessary to ensure Xingqiu's romantic success.
Thus, Xingqiu's older brother leads him through a five-step plan to court Chongyun, not without first demonstrating these methods on others to prove their effectiveness.

He tries his hardest not to think about the fact that he could have lost him on that field full of ancient machines, that he could have gone to sleep in hopes of getting up on the day of his arrival to see him again, only to be kept waiting while his lifeless body laid in a secluded plain, hugged by the grass blades and kissed by the sun instead of him.
OR: Chongyun gets injured during one of his trips and Xingqiu is faced with the fact that he can't live without him
