“You misunderstand, Alina,” Nikolai licks his lips. “I’m not giving you to the Darkling.”
“Oh?”
“We intend to share you,” Aleksander’s nose skims the vulnerable junction of her neck, voice low enough that she feels it scrape in her bones.

Summary
Alina Starkov had a bright future ahead of her. After graduating with summa cum laude distinction, it didn’t take long for her to land her dream job. Not long after she even started a steady relationship with her childhood friend. Everything was perfect, that is until she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and everything came tumbling down.
Aleksander Morosova was old, older than he’d liked to admit. Life barely brought any amusement to him, until he laid eyes on her.
“If there was a way to cure your cancer, would you take it?” He asked, his voice barely a whisper, silver eyes boring into her.
She fought back a snort, despite the tense air. There was no cure, she knew that. But she might as well indulge him in his fantasies.
“In a heartbeat.”
That’s when her fate was sealed.
