And—wait a minute. Ilya knows those eyes. Those eyes are as familiar to him as his own, even with newly slitted pupils. And the fur? Ilya has no doubt it’s an exact match to the straight black locks that normally sit atop Shane’s head. Well—normally only on Shane’s head. And, well, a few other places too, but that was a thought for when Shane wasn’t a cat.
Or, Shane gets cursed and turns into a cat in Ilya's Boston apartment.

“You were bad tonight? Is that what you’re saying?” Ilya asked, voice a low murmur. He ran a hand up and into Shane’s hair, weaving his fingers into the strands at the back of his head.
Shane finally looked up at him. He was visibly confused but still nodded his head and responded, “Yes.”
Ilya hummed and tightened his grip in Shane’s hair, earning himself a sharp gasp.
“Do you think you need to be punished for it?” Ilya asked.
Or, An upset Shane is convinced he is to blame for Montreal’s loss. Ilya takes him out of his head.

Rozanov adjusted his towel, and Shane’s eyes were drawn to the motion like magnets.
“Well, if I come to 1410 tonight at nine o’clock…” Rozanov said casually, leaving the question open.
“I might open,” Shane responded. He shouldn’t have entertained this conversation at all, he knew. He knew how dangerous this could be, for so many reasons and for both of them. But he also wanted, so, so badly. He wanted to be touched, he wanted to feel good, and he wanted Rozanov to be the one to give that to him. He wanted Rozanov.
Rozanov nodded, like this was the expected response, and shrugged casually. “I might knock,” he said, then walked away to his own locker where his things were stashed.

“Hey, baby,” Louis said, smiling as he approached Lestat, who held out his arms as he waited to receive him. Daniel watched helplessly as Louis reached Lestat on the couch and promptly swung one leg over Lestat’s to straddle him, planting his denim-clad ass firmly in Lestat’s lap.
Lestat arms wound around Louis’s waist immediately, and he hummed in contentment at this new development. Louis leaned down to peck his lips. And then again. And again.
“Okay, guys, seriously,” Daniel interrupted. “Look, I’m happy for you two, really, but we’re in the middle of filming.”

It’s strange. He went down hard, but nothing hurts. That might be very bad, if he can’t feel anything at all. But it’s not that. He can feel things, but they just don’t feel right. Maybe they already have him up on the stretcher, because he’s lying on something soft, not the cold ice he’d crumpled onto when he fell. He’s never felt a stretcher quite like this before, though.
“Ilya!”
There it is again. But now it’s louder. Almost unmistakably Shane.
Blinking against sunlight, Ilya opens his eyes, and stares up at the brilliant blue sky.

After a bad hit during a game in 2016, Ilya wakes up at Shane Hollander's cottage in 2023. Finding out he has a dog, plays for Ottawa, and is married to Shane in quick succession, confronting the existence of time travel becomes the least of his worries.

Ilya knows firsthand that the world isn’t comfortable. It’s loud, bright, demanding, a harsh place in direct opposition to everything he’s recently learned about autism.
Is it so wrong that he wants Shane to feel safe here? To carve out a space where, even if only for a few hours, he doesn’t have to grin and bear anything? He can just be?
Or: Ilya Rozanov has a lot of good ideas. Telling his fuck buddy that he should consider getting an autism diagnosis isn’t one of them.
