Summary
Working at a restaurant was rarely easy. Cleaning dishes, running tables, and getting yelled at for adding lemon to someone's drink when they definitely asked for lemon. Wooyoung was used to it.
But there were good things too. Meeting new people, trying new dishes for the first time, rock-hard calves from working the floor seemingly every day of the week.
Then there was the delivery guy. Yeah. Wooyoung supposed he liked seeing him too.

Summary
Shane Started. “Well, I’ve been doing some reading, on the IIHF. Y'know, their rules and stuff. I was thinking, now that you have a Canadian passport, maybe you didn’t have to stop playing in the tournaments. I mean- you don’t have Russian citizenship anymore, so it doesn’t make sense for you not to be allowed to play anywhere… so I went through the rulebook for a nationality transfer.”
Shane pulled up a document on his phone and turned the screen for Ilya to see. Big bold letters flashed in front of Ilya’s face: Application to Change National Eligibility.
Ilya stayed silent. His brain was still having trouble computing what Shane had just said to him. He hadn’t even realized this was an option for him, but now that he knew it was all he wanted to do. There was a real possibility that he could compete with Shane for Canada.

Summary
“I don’t want to drag you down with me.”
“You’re not,” she says. “Maybe I’m not perfect, Haymitch. Have you considered that?”
“You’re my rare and radiant girl-”
“Nowhere in my poem does it say that the girl is perfect,” she says. “Maybe that’s why he can’t forget his lost Lenore. Because she was less than perfect. Because she fascinated him.”
“I’m still less than you deserve,” he says, and she smiles.
“It’s not about deserving,” she says quietly. “I want to give you everything. If you’re bad, let me be bad with you.”

Summary
No matter how much he loved his husband, Shane had always wanted to be a star hockey player first and foremost, not a 'gay hockey player' defined first by his sexuality.
He had also made peace with what their marriage meant, and the challenges they faced in hockey because of it; he had found happiness in the bubble they had in Ottawa with the Centaurs.
That safe bubble burst one day with an unexpected call from Hockey Canada, and by the time it was all said and done, there was going to be a picture of Shane beside ‘gay icon’ in the urban dictionary.
