The large dining room felt odd with just five people. Ronald came alone, so not much space was taken. He wanted to say it made the situation a bit more relaxed, outwith how uptight Inference was the whole time, following Désire’s every movement, it felt a lot more uncomfortable than he wanted to admit.

Summary
After the events that shook Calw and ruined it for good, Sinclair, with the help of an acquaintance, managed to leave to a different district. To his misfortune, the only place Don could take him was the shady and harsh Backstreets of WARP Corp., infamous for their food culture, revolving around human flesh. He was warned about it, having to carefully choose where he would eat if he decided that making food at home was too much of a hassle.
Unfortunately for him, he failed to do that the first week of his stay there, not even realising it until months later.
He also didn't realise that he managed to get the attention of a certain sous-chef, who seemed to enjoy him a little too much, until it was too late for him to escape.
As things get worse in every aspect of his life, he wonders - would it be worth to accept this madness as a part of his life, even if it might lead to him bleeding out for the sake of someone who wants to eat him out of sheer obsession?

After Luca's father if finally out of his life, Luca felt somewhat free and safe for the first time in his life. He finally got to go to university, he can finally have friends other than Tracy, he didn't need to worry that something bad was going to happen to him when he gets home.
Because his father was finally dead.
But after his first day at university when he finds out that the man he thought his father killed was actually alive and was going to teach him more than just one course that he had, his world once again spirals around, but not in the same way as before.
Alva Lorenz did not seem to like him much, and neither did Luca. But what can he do about it?
Definitely not get himself into situations where he's forced to interact with the said man and find out more about him and himself in the process.
And definitely not start to realize they have more in common than his father ruining both of their lives.

Sinclair was a nest boy who’s life was thrown out of balance and Gregor was someone living in the Backstreets of District 23 his whole life, the District know for their… unusual food choices.
He wasn’t dumb, far from it. He knew what went into those pies they made, what was happening behind the closed kitchen doors. There was no need for Gregor to even bring it up, why would he? Every second restaurant served food like that, it was nothing new.
There was some luck here, at least he thought so. Staying alive in these Backstreets was a quest in of itself, as every corner was a threat that could drag one to a restaurant from which they would never return.

It was one of those days were survivors wanted to drink a bit, so even if he were to leave right after dinner, he would not be able to escape the trap of having to drink at least a glass of something. As much as wine was a classy choice, he would have to deal with Antonio later, so a glass of beer was a better choice, even if the one they decided to bring today wasn’t his favorite.
By all means, he didn’t have to go to his bedroom today, the other didn’t seem to be interested in that. He would’ve been invited one way or another if that was the case, but why not just do it for the sake of simplicity? Better than to have him bang on his door in the middle of the night, something he had done before.

Even Sinclair himself, who had it better than most, had his own problems that came with the fact he was even here, working for Limbus Company. No one here had it well, that much was true for everyone.
Even so, he could not help but feel bad for some people, most notably Gregor.
