Summary
Katsuki left the keys in the ceramic dish.
In his other hand he carried a paper bag with two slices of lemon pie and a transparent box containing a limited-edition All Might collectible figure, the one Deku was missing.
He had planned to surprise him: his nerd would be hunched over his books, biting his lip, and he would come in, ruffle his hair and put the desserts on the table. Maybe afterward he’d pull him by the hand toward the sofa and they’d watch an old hero movie, and maybe later he could ask Izuku to make good use of the preparation he did in the shower.
Something simple. Something normal.
Then he heard a moan.
Loud. Torn. Unmistakable.
Katsuki’s heart stopped, then raced. The bag slipped from his fingers. The pie hit the floor with a soft thud, the figurine tinkled against the wood.

“So stop. Stop chasing when you’ll never fucking measure up.”
Don’t stop pulling me along after you.

Katsuki skates toward him, gets close again. He grips Izuku’s chin and holds his head in place so he can continue gazing firmly into his eyes.
“It’s dark,” quiet, these words are. “Far darker than anything you’ve been given. Something burns in you, something the ice can soothe if you allow it. If you know how to let it soothe you.”
Katsuki’s thumb presses hard into Izuku’s chin as he tightens his grip and tugs Izuku closer by his face.
“I’m going to bring you to your full potential. And you will be the best.”
Alternatively: Two years after his sudden disappearance, Izuku's skating idol, Bakugou Katsuki, returns to the ice.

Funny, isn’t it?
There was a point in time where Katsuki would’ve killed to have Izuku off his heels. Out of his life.
Now? Katsuki wakes up most nights, heart hammering in his chest as he attempts to calm his raging pulse from the vivid nightmares of Izuku with no arms. Of Izuku, bloodied and beaten, fighting for the world. He digs his palms into his eye sockets; sucks air in through clenched teeth as he sobs.
He’d give anything to have Izuku back in his life.
OR
Katsuki and Izuku drift after the war, and Katsuki doesn't understand why. Well, after ten fucking years of silence and the occasional bullshit excuses - Katsuki's going to make sure Izuku knows how he feels. God as his witness, he WILL get to the bottom if the nerd's fuck ass behavior.
