Summary
Zuko can't believe this is happening. Surely the universe is testing him. He's been in love with Katara since he was a teenager. Now, she's shown up to his home, seeking a place to stay post-breakup. Were this a drama, Zuko would bring her to his favorite courtyard and say, Forget about the Avatar, marry me instead. And she'd agree and fall into his arms and he'd kiss her senseless and finally learn the taste of her mouth. They'd have beautiful, blue-eyed children that Zuko would never be an asshole to, and live happily ever after.
However, that would probably cause a diplomatic incident. Also, he doubts she returns his feelings.
So there's that.

Thomas’ eyes blink open, then fall on Vincent.
“Vincent,” he murmurs blearily, voice hoarse. Then, he seems to register he's in his own apartment, outside of the Vatican. He rockets onto his elbows. “Vincent! What—”
Vincent holds up the apartment key. “I let myself in. I hope you don't mind.”
“Of course not! But—how did you get here?”
“I walked.”
“Through Rome?”
“Well, I didn't walk through Venice.”

Thomas and Vincent test the limits of their self-control. (It’s rapidly dwindling, given they have the keys to each other’s apartments.)

Francis is, he knows, a selfish man at heart. That he should derive so much pleasure, so much pride, from reducing someone to their base desires with only his hands and his mouth: that is as much sin, surely, as the act itself. But in this moment, with Fitzjames writhing against him, making the sorts of noises a man makes when he is biting on his own first, Francis cannot bring himself to care.
